It was like a dream come true for citizens of Eastern part of Uttar Pradesh state, that is Purvanchal, when the seed of inception of this medical college was sown in November of 1969. Its foundation stone was laid by the then Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh Late Shri Chandra Bhanu Gupta. Baba Raghav Das was born on 12th December 1896 in Pune in Pachhapurkar family. He was youngest in his family of eight siblings, and was named Raghavendra. His entire family died in plague epidemic of 1902- 1904, and the five year old child was compelled to take primary education at Bombay.
